Why Glenn Duxbury is NOT a ‘Home Inspector’

Glenn Duxbury has spent nearly 40 years documenting deficiencies with residential homes, commercial buildings, strata complexes and apartment buildings, as well as issues with remodeling projects and insurance claims. 20 years ago, he was indeed a Home Inspector – label used so often – but time and circumstance has changed his situation, as it does for many who are open to change.

As the number-one Building Inspector & Consultant in the region, he offers a consulting service to identify problems of building/home performance and moisture-intrusion (leaks) for insurance claims and warranty checks. He also provides solutions to the many problems faced by homeowners, prospective buyers, Property Managers and Lawyers and documents all the construction defects needed, that may arise.

Why Glenn is not a Home Inspector

Typically, the term “home inspection” references a look at the entire home ( plumbing, electrical, HVAC, structure, etc. ) in a generalized format, while holding to a predefined script or checklist. There is much value in this and hiring a good, seasoned Home Inspector is always appropriate when buying a home. However, a general, overall inspection does not always assess the building envelope and all the working systems, in depth. Also, Glenn provides solutions for many other common problems faced by others. His services are related to the building envelope, which protects the rest of the structure within, as well as portions on the inside. However, this does not mean a condition check of any property could not be provided.

A prime example of what he looks out for is water-ingress into the building/home, which can cost many thousands of dollars. He is also focused on Stratas, and all the issues those who administer such, face regularly.

A quality, professional building analysis/assessment is critical for litigation and decision-making, in negotiations with insurance companies, sellers and builders, for general safety in any home/building and to save over-spending funds and hassles in the future. Glenn’s vast experience, knowledge, thoroughness, attention to detail and sole focus on your issues will help bring you the results you need: an accurate picture of what is going on with your home or building, for peace-of-mind and to be free from anxiety, which can result.
